Job's Discourse on Wisdom

"Surely there is a mine for silver, and a place where gold is refined. But where can wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? From where then does wisdom come? And where is the place of understanding? It is hidden from the eyes of all living, and concealed from the birds of the air...
GOd understand its way, and He knows its place. For He looks to the ends of the earth and sees under the whole heavens...

And to the man He said:
"Behold the fear of the LOrd, that is wisdom,
And to depart from evil is understanding."

The Book of Ecclesiastes

"..Don't pay attention to everything people say. You may hear your servant insulting you, and you know yourself that you have insulted other people many times."
The Book of Ecclesiastes 7:21;22

"It is better to have wise people reprimand you than to have stupid people sing you praises."
The Book of Ecclesiastes 7:5

"The more you worry, the more likely you are to have bad dreams,
And the more you talk, the more likely you are to say something foolish.
So when you make a promise to God, keep it as quickly as possible.
He has no use for a fool. Do what you promise to do..
Don't let your own words lead you into sin."
The Book of Ecclesiastes 5:3,4,6

"People work so hard to succeed: It is because they envy the things their neighbors have.
But it is useless. It is like chasing the wind. They say that we would be fools to fold our hands and let ourselves starve to death. Maybe so, but it is better to have only a little, with peace of mind, than be busy all the time with both hands, trying to catch the wind."
The Book of Ecclesiastes 4:4,5,6

The Prophet's Anguish and Hope

Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass when the Lord has not commended it?
Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that woe and well being proceed?
Why should a living man complain, a man from the punishment of his sins?

Hope In The Lord's Faithfulness

The Prophet's Anguish And Hope
.
Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed
because His compassion failed not.

They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness
"The Lord is my portion" says my soul
"Therefore I hope in Him."
For the Lord will not cast off forever

Though He causes grief yet He will show
His compassion according to the multitude of His mercies.

The Blindness of Disobedience

Pause and wonder. Blind yourself and be blind!
They are drunk but not with wine;
They stagger but not with intoxicating drink.

For the Lord has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep
And has closed your eyes, namely the prophets;
And HE has covered your heads, namely the seers.

The Lord said:
Inasmuch as these people draw near to ME with their mouths
And honor ME with their lips, but have removed their hearts
far from ME,
And their fear toward ME is taught by the commandment of men..

Therefore behold, I will again do a marvelous work among this people,
a marvelous work and a wonder
For the wisdom of their wise man shall perish, and the understanding
of their prudent men shall be hidden.

Woe to those who seek deep to bide their counsel far from the Lord;
And their work are in the dark: They say, "Who sees us?"
Surely you have things turned around!

Shall the potter be esteemed as the clay; For shall the things made say
of him who made it "He did not make me"?
Or shall the things formed say of him who formed it, "He has no understanding"?

James 1: 13-14

Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God," for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He himself tempt anyone.
But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
Then when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin;
and sin, when it is full grown,
brings forth death.

Who Has Made Man's mouth?

Exodus 4:10-

...Then Moses said to the Lord, "O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since you have spoken to your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue."

So the Lord said to him, who has made man's mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord?

But he said, O my Lord please send by the hand of whomever else you may send."

So the anger of the Lord kindled against Moses, and He said: "Is not Aaron the Levite your brother? I know that he can speak well... now you shall speak to him and put the words in his mouth and I will be with your mouth and with his mouth and I will teach you what you shall do.

So he shall be your spokesman to the people. And he himself shall be as a mouth for you, and you shall be to him as God..."
