Futile Idolatry

"And of whom have you been afraid, or feared,
That you have lied and not remember Me,
Nor taken it to you heart?
Is it not because I have held My peace from of old
That you do not Fear Me?

I will declare your righteousness and your works,
for they will not profit you.

When you cry out, let your collection of idols deliver you.
But the wind will carry them away,
A breath will take them,
But he who puts his trust in Me shall possess the land,
And shall inherit My holy mountain.

True Worship and False

Thus says the Lord;

"Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool.
Where is the house that you will build Me?
And where is the place of My rest?
For all those things My hand has made, and all those things exist",
says the Lord.
"But on this one I will look;
on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit and who trembles at My word.|"

The Words of the Wise...

"...I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever.

Nothing can be added to it.
And nothing taken from it.
God does it, that men should fear before Him.
That which is has already been.
Ans what is to be has already been;
And God requires an account of what is past."

Ecc. 3:14

I Am the LORD

"I Am the Lord, and there is no other;

There is no God besides Me...
I form the light and create darkness,
I make peace and create calamity;
I, the Lord, do all these things."

Isaiah 45:5, 7

Assyria Destroyed

The Lord of Host has sworn, saying,

"Surely, as I have thought, so it shall come to pass. And as I have purposed, so it shall stand: that I will break the Assyrian in My land, and on My mountains tread him underfoot. Then his yoke shall be removed from them, and his burden removed from his shoulders."

This is the purpose that is purposed against the whole earth. And this is the hand that is stretched out over all the nation.
For the Lord of Hosts has purposed, and who will annul it?
HIS hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?

Stolen Water is Sweet...

"Stolen water is sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant." But he does not know that the dead are there, and that her guests are in the depths of hell.
-King James Bible-

"Stolen water is sweeter. Stolen bread taste better." Her victims do not know that the people die who go to her house, that those who have already entered are now deep in the world of the dead.
-Good News Bible-

" Stolen water is refreshing; food eaten in secret tastes the best!" But the men don't realize that her former guests are now in the grave.
-New Living Translation Bible-

Proverbs 9:17

Foolish and Immoral Woman

"This is the way of an adulterous woman;
She eats and wipes her mouth, and says, ' I have done no wickedness.'"
-King James Version-

"Equally amazing is how an adulterous woman can satisfy her sexual appetite'
shrug her shoulders, and say, ' What's wrong with that?'"
-New Living Translation-

" As a ring of gold in a swine's snout,
so is a lovely woman who lacks discretion."

" A nagging wife is like water going drip-drip-drip."

Proverbs 30:20

The Value of Practical Wisdom

" In the day of prosperity be joyful,
but in the day of adversity consider:
Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other,
so that man can find nothing that will happen after him."

" Do not be overly righteous, nor be overly wise;
Why should you destroy yourself?
Do not be overly wicked, nor foolish;
Why should you die before your time?"

" Also do not take to heart everything people say,
lest you hear your servant cursing you.
For how many times also, your own heart has known that
even you have cursed others."

Ecc. 7:14, 16-17, 2
1-22

Saul Rejected as King

"Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying
the voice of the LORD?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice; and to heed than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as the sin of withcraft, and stubborness is as iniquity and idolatry.

Because you have rejected the word of the LORD , HE also has rejected you
from being king..."

1Samuel 15:

Like a Clay in the Potter's Hand

...a vessel that the potter made of clay was marred in his hands, so he made another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.

And the LORD said:

"Can I not do with you as this potter? Look, as the clay in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand! "

Who Can Know it?

"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked;
Who can know it?

I, the Lord, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give every man according to his ways,
And according to the fruit of his doings."

Jeremiah 17:9-10

The End of the Wise and the Fool

"For there is no more remembrance of the wise than of the fool forever, since all that now will be forgotten in the days to come.
And how does a wise man dies? As the fool!

Ecc. 2:16

The Sins of Aaron's Sons Nadab and Abiju

Then Nadab and Abiju, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered a profane fire before the Lord, which HE had not commanded them. So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord.

Then Moses said to Aaron, "This is what the LOrd spoke, saying:
'By those who come near ME I must be regarded as Holy; and before all the people I must be glorified.' "

So Aaron held his peace.

Leviticus 10: 1-3

Prophet Elisha

And (prophet Elisha) went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up the road, some youths came from the city and mocked him,
Go up, you baldhead!
Go up, you baldhead!

So he turned around and looked at them, and pronounced a curse on them in the name of the Lord. And two female bears came out of the woods and mauled forty- two of the youths.

2Kings 2:23-24

Moses Longs to See God's Face

And he (Moses) said: "Please show me your glory."
But HE said, "you cannot see MY face; for no man shall see ME, and live."

And the LOrd said,"Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the rock. So it shall be, while MY glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of a rock, and I will cover you with MY hand while I pass by. Then I will take away MY hand, and you shall see MY back; but MY face shall not be seen."

Exodus 33:18, 20-23

Behold!

"They (prophets) continually say to those who despise ME, 'the LOrd has said, "you shall have peace"; And to everyone who walks according to the imagination of his own heart, " no evil shall come upon you."

For who has stood in the counsel of the Lord, and has percieved and heard HIS word?
Who has marked His word and heard it? Behold, a whirlwind of the LOrd has gone forth in fury- a violent whirlwind! It will fall violently on the head of the wicked.

The anger of the LOrd will not turn back until HE has executed and performed the thoughts of HIS heart. In the latter days you will understand it perfectly.

Jeremiah 23: 17~20

Healing for the Backsliders

"For thus says the High And Lofty One who inhabits eternity,
whose name is Holy:

"I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite
and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive
the spirit of the contrite ones."

"I create the fruit of the lips;
Peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near," says
the Lord " ans I will heal him."

But the wicked are like troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters
cast up mire and dirt,

"there is no peace" says my God "for the wicked."

Isaiah 57: 15, 19~21

Awesome!

"...for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all intents of the thoughts.
If you seek HIM, He will be found by you; but if you forsake HIM, HE will cast
you off forever."

1 Chron. 28:9
